Crocheted Work

When I make crocheted vests, sweaters, hats, or scarves, I use a single metal crochet hook and assorted yarns, primarily wool or wool blends. The wool blend yarn provides softness, while the pure wool provides the textural look that is essential to my work. Because I have been crocheting most of my life, I think primarily about the colors I would like to use for the project and then just begin. If I am making a sweater or a vest for a specific customer, I take their measurements and discuss what colors and details they would like. The sizes of the baby sweaters pictured here are called “Twosies”. I don’t use patterns to make crochet work that I sell, unless a customer has a particular pattern and asks me to use it.
